Psychodopygus, llanosmartinsi n. sp. de Pilcopata, Peru (Diptera, psychodidae, phlebotominae)

Abstract

Dá-se o nome de Psychodopygus Ilanosmartinsi à espécie descrita como l. amazonensis por LLANOS, MARTINS & SILVA, em 1975. A nova espécie se distingue daquela com que foi confundida, por sua caracterlstica pigmentação do tórax, em que a parte inferior das esternopleuras tem a mesma cor do mesonoto. Em P. amazonensis as pleuras são inteiramente claras, contrastando com o mesonoto escuro.

The new name of Psychodopygus lIanosmartinsi is given to the species of sandfly described as lutzomyia amazonensis by LLANOS, MARTINS &SILVA, in 1975. The newspecies isdistinguished from the latter insect, with which it was confused, by its characteristic pigmentation of the thorax. The lower portions of the sternopleurae have the same colour as the mesonotum, whereas in P amazonensis the pleurae are entirely light in colour and contrast sharply withthedark mesonotum.
