This paper deals with the studies on the natural infection by Leishmania
of a wild rodent (Oryzomys goeldii) from the Utinga forest (state
of Pará, Brasil). On the matter, 5 "notes" were published, the third
one presented to the "First International Congress of Parasitology" held
in Rome (Sept., 1964).
A wide land of Utinga forest was sub-divided in smaller areas in
which were distributed special traps for the capture of rodents for
arboviruses studies. These rodents were used for leishmaniasis researches
toa.
