New HLA data for the Tirio, Parakanâ, Kayapo and Mapuche tribes, as well as supplementary
data for the Waiâpi are presented. Taken together with previously published information on
South American lndians, these typings show a remarkably homogeneous gene pool with a
restricted range of polymorphisms and a further restricted set of haplotypes.
